╔══════════════════════════╗
║█▓▒░ FIRST TIME SETUP ░▒▓█║
╚══════════════════════════╝
1. Unzip TC23.ZIP
Unzip TCANSI.ZIP
2. Type TCC
3. Access Setup Nodes and enter information for all nodes.
HINT: Set up Node 1 COMPLETELY as this node's information
will be copied to all other nodes created.
NOTE: Be sure to EDIT Drop File Path to the specific Node
for each node.
NOTE: LOCAL node BBS Type is LOCAL
4. Access AOM Editor and Edit AOMs (If any).
NOTE: AOMs are hidden features and will not appear on any menu.
5. Access Player Editor and Edit Settings. (When registered)
6. Run TC /L for Local Test.
NOTE: If Node 0 is not your local node and Node 3 is then run TC 3
7. Make your BBS Door batch file looking something like:
SINGLE NODE SYSTEMS:
@ECHO OFF

CD C:\BBS\DOORS\TC <-- The path for Top Cop!
TC.EXE 1 OR TC.EXE %1 <-- See which one works with your system
CD C:\BBS <-- Back to the BBS Directory
MULTI-NODE SYSTEMS:

NOTE: I use BNU fossil driver for Top Cop! My batch file looks like
the below and BNU is in a directory in my path statement.
@ECHO OFF
BNU (Installs fossil driver)
CD C:\GAMES\TC
TC.EXE %WCNODEID%
BNU /U (Uninstalls fossil driver)
CD\WILDCAT

║█▓▒░ UPGRADE 2.x to 2.3 ░▒▓█║
╚════════════════════════════╝
SPECIAL NOTE TO v2.11+ UPGRADERS: CREATE A BLANK FILE CALLED TC2.11
THIS FILE WILL TELL TCC TO KEEP OLM.x FILES. IF THE OLM.x FILES
GET DELETED, THERE COULD BE A PROBLEM WITH PARTNERS DATA IF
HIRE/FIRE MESSAGES HAVE BEEN MADE. IF THE OLM.x FILES DO GET DELETED,
THE PROBLEM IS NOT THAT GREAT. THE PARTNER ROSTER MAY SHOW PARTNERS
THAT REALLY DON'T EXIST, BUT ONLY IF THE OLMs CONTAIN PARTNER MESSAGES.
The reason why the fix is done this way, is that the OLMs for previous
versions MUST be deleted. This default ensures their deletion. The
price to pay (incorrect partner roster) is small compared to not
deleting them (possible lock-ups). THIS IS FOR v2.11 and up UPGRADERS ONLY.
1. Unzip TC23.ZIP (Overwrite ALL Files)
2. Unzip TCANSI.ZIP (Overwrite ALL Files)
3. Run TCC

║█▓▒░ UPGRADE 1.02 thru 1.04 to 2.3 ░▒▓█║
╚═══════════════════════════════════════╝
1. Copy ALL .DAT files to a safe place.
2. Delete ALL files in old TC! directory.
3. Unzip TC23.ZIP in old TC! directory.
4. Unzip TCANSI.ZIP in old TC! directory.
5. Copy ALL .DAT files back into old TC! directory.
6. Run TCC.EXE and setup Nodes. (Dropfiletype of LOCAL for local node)
HINT: Set up Node 1 COMPLETELY as Node 1's information will be
copied to all other nodes created.
NOTE: Be sure to EDIT Drop File Path to the specific Node
for each node.
NOTE: Local node BBS Type is LOCAL
7. Utilize AOM Editor to your liking.
NOTE: AOMs are hidden features and will not appear on any menu.
*8. MODIFY your batch file that runs the door. Remove the /P:(blah)
9. Run TC /L for local test.
NOTE: If Node 0 is not your local node and Node 3 is then run TC 3
NOTE: TC1.04 may be upgraded ONCE ONLY. The file C104-23 is erased
permanently by TCC. C104-23 should never be created manually.
If however; you start afresh with the .DAT files from TC1.04,
then you MUST have a C104-23 file. C104-23 is a blank file and
is present only to tell TCC that this is an upgrade from v1.04.
NOTE: It is a good idea to save the two files below prior to conversion
TOPCOP.DAT
TCMAINT.DAT
in case you have problems converting them. You can send them
to me using one of the methods described in
"HOW TO REACH US BY MESSAGING" found in TC.DOC and I will do
my best to convert them.
